The IPL module, operating across a broad spectrum of light wavelengths with interchangeable cutoff filters, targets the pigment and vascular components — brown spots, diffuse redness, and thread-like capillaries.
What Stellar M22 Addresses
- Pigmentation and Sun Spots — Lightens dark spots, freckles, and melasma. IPL targets melanin clusters in the skin, breaking up excess pigment from chronic sun exposure. The light energy is absorbed selectively by darker pigment, which then flakes away over the following days and weeks.
- Vascular Lesions — Treats broken capillaries and rosacea. Haemoglobin absorbs IPL energy more readily than surrounding tissue, causing visible vessels to coagulate and fade without damaging the skin surface.
Acne Treatment — Reduces active acne and inflammation. The heat from the light helps reduce the bacteria and inflammation associated with breakouts.
How Stellar M22 Works
The device emits broad-spectrum light that penetrates the skin and is absorbed by pigment and blood vessels. The IPL module uses Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT) to deliver controlled light pulses. For pigmentation, shorter wavelengths reach melanin in the upper layers. For vascular concerns, slightly longer wavelengths target haemoglobin. The energy heats the target, causing it to break down — pigment particles fragment, while vessel walls coagulate and are reabsorbed.
Treatment Experience
A single Stellar M22 session takes five to ten minutes. The IPL component feels like a quick snap against the skin, with a warm, prickling sensation that is well tolerated.
A course of three to five sessions is typical, spaced three to four weeks apart. IPL results appear gradually — pigment darkens over the first few days, then flakes away. Vascular results take a few days to weeks as the body clears the coagulated vessels.
There is no significant downtime. Some redness and warmth immediately after treatment resolves within a few hours to a day. Pigment spots may darken before they flake. Sun protection is essential throughout the course. Results vary by individual.
